Today, we went for our second consultation. The doctor wanted to perform an ultrasound to check on the baby--determine the growth rate, check out the development, etc. This is the first time he is able to do an ultrasound from the outside. He puts some gel on K's belly and moves the ultrasound around. There's the baby...kicking its legs and moving its arms very actively. He comments on how active the baby is and continues to check things. Then he doesn't say anything. He's just looking at the screen. He says he wants to use the other ultrasound that is placed inside for a better view. He assures us that everything is fine.
Then we hear the question; "Do you see what I see?" again. J says yes and starts laughing. K is confused. J asks if it is TWINS and the doctor says yes. K says, "What!?!" The doctor shows her the second baby on the screen and she starts laughing too. It was such a surprise.

Both J and K's families have twins and everyone...we mean everyone has asked if we were going to have twins. After the first consultation, we told everyone that there was only one heartbeat and only one baby. The doctor was just as surprised as us and laughed too. He thought that K took the news very well. We called all the family to let them know. Our mothers are still in shock.
